The Chainsaw Operator Course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate, inspect, maintain, and transport chainsaws in forestry, agriculture, landscaping, construction, and other industries where chainsaws are used. The programme combines classroom-based learning with extensive practical training to ensure learners can operate chainsaws confidently, safely, and efficiently while complying with occupational health and safety legislation and industry best practices.

The course focuses on hazard identification, risk management, correct cutting techniques, preventative maintenance, and safe work practices. Learners will develop the competence to inspect equipment, perform routine maintenance, safely fell trees, cross-cut timber, de-branch trees, and apply proper operating procedures to minimise accidents, equipment damage, and downtime.
